***PASSED FROM THE TIME OF TALKING ABOUT SUICIDE PREVENTION***
Every 40 seconds, a person takes his own life. In Brazil, 25 people give their lives to each day and for each one of those who managed to fulfill their goal, another 20 tried without success. If the problem is so great, why do not we talk about suicide prevention?

First you have to understand what leads a person to choose that destiny. Suicides are usually people who suffer with some mental disorder like depression or have some kind of addictions and chemical addiction such as alcoholism.

Suicide is the end of the line. It is the resource to which those who no longer bear to live with their ghosts.

Often viewed as cowardice, suicide is in fact a dangerous symptom of a society that refuses to speak openly about problems such as anxiety, panic syndrome or schizophrenia, for example.
It is estimated that 90% of suicides can be avoided if there are basic conditions for offering help. Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

***********FIVE SUICIDE SIGNS******************
**The Alarm: Not infrequently, people with suicidal thoughts express their willingness to kill themselves. Be it in a conversation or in a Facebook post. Do not judge or ignore. Many people think it is a call for attention, but it can be a legitimate will.
Change: The mood of a potential suicide can change from water to wine in a matter of seconds. That's because often, this person faces some kind of chemical imbalance in the brain.
**The Depression: Suicide and depression walk arm in arm. About 15% of severely depressed patients end their lives. If you still can not identify a case of the disease, read this post here.
**Drug Abuse: Most suicide cases are associated with the indiscriminate use of alcohol and other psychoactive drugs.
**The Theater: There are records of critically ill patients who have cheated the care of the clinics they were in. When they returned to their homes, they committed suicide. Any substantial and sudden improvement should be viewed with caution.

***MORE COMMON CAUSES OF SUICIDE***
1 - Mental illness
Among the most common causes of suicide is mental illness. Some of them are anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or depression.

2 - Trauma
Any kind of traumatic experience can lead a person to feel helpless, guilty and / or ashamed. Victim of physical abuse, sexual abuse or some other trauma can cause post-traumatic stress disorder, which in turn can lead to suicide.

3 - Bullying
Most people suffer from bullying while growing up or walking in school. Bullying can have a profound effect on how people think and how they feel. Most people who suffer end up feeling extremely depressed, worthless and without hope of changing their situation.

4 - PERSONALITY DISORDERS
People with a personality disorder may have trouble maintaining relationships, maintaining a stable job, and / or coping with life. For example, someone with a dependent personality disorder may be too afraid to leave an abusive relationship. This "dependence" can lead the person with this disorder to consider suicide as an escape from their circumstances.

5 - Unemployment
Being unemployed can lead to feelings of isolation and make your life seem empty. With a down economy, many people lose their jobs and getting a new job can be difficult. In many cases, being unemployed not only makes people feel they have no purpose in life but can also lead to depression because of lack of income.

6 - Social Isolation or Loneliness
Being socially isolated from it can impair mental health and consider suicide. Socializing and interacting with other people is a basic human need. If social needs are not met, a person may begin to feel alone, which leads to depression and, possibly, suicidal thoughts. Loneliness is defined as a general feeling of sadness as a result of being alone or feeling disconnected from others.

7 - Chronic pain
If you have chronic pain, it means that you had a daily pain that persisted for three to six months. This pain often impairs your ability to function throughout the day and can affect the mobility, the ability to perform certain tasks and even a person's mental health. Although pain levels differ between those suffering from chronic pain, one thing they all have in common is the inability to escape the daily discomfort associated with pain.

It is important for each of us to commit to what is most important and whether you talk about taboos.
How to Identify a Person Thinking of Suicide 1
The truth is that each of us may have a suicidal friend at this point in time who is not counting on it.

They can not tell us what they did they did in the world?

The main reasons that prevent people who think about ending their lives from talking about suicide are the fear of being labeled and frantic and problematic for the rest of their lives.

It takes a lot of courage to talk about the desire to commit suicide, especially when you're going through it.

All patients are at risk of suicide. Suicide has no face.

Mothers, parents, youth, pastors, artists, the thought of ending life can be rooted in everyone's mind.

But there are some groups that are more prone to suicide than others.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, lesbians, gays and bisexuals are more likely to be suicidal than heterosexuals.

And 25% of young transgender people have tried to take their own lives.

What some people do not know is that they are ideal for learning life.

Why does suicide start to seem like a viable option?
How to Identify a Person Thinking of Suicide 3
John Gibson, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison, Ashley Madison and Ashley Madison committed suicide in August.

He was talking about depression. He talked about his name there, and he said he was very, very sad. What he did about what returned his life to other people, and he did it for grace, mercy and forgiveness for all. But somehow, he's not saying this is for himself. "

- Christi Gibson, about the suicide of her husband, John.

Jody Nelson, social medicine assistant in Lansing, Mich., Explains:

READ: 8 things you must do before 8am (including you)
"A suicidal person is often suicide as a pure, clean and autonomous solution to their emotional state of despair. Suicide is never pure. It's never clean. And he's never seen him stand alone. Suicidal people are not able to predict its consequences in the lives of the people around. The disease itself makes it impossible for them to see it. "

He advises us to know the risk factors:
How to Identify a Person Thinking of Suicide 4
1. Depression. Isolation. Losses.

2. Major changes in life (and sometimes just a few small and future ones or stopping taking certain medications).

3. Previous suicide attempts. Substance Abuse

4. Irrational or unstable behaviors.

5. Difficulties

6. Access to means of committing the act.

7. Suicidal Intent.

8. A suicide story in the family.

9. Connections of other people who died from suicide.

Jody Nelson says that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Note that that has been special down lately. Are you thinking about getting hurt?

This does not faught that some indecision suicides would suicide pass the idea to suddenly.

The thinking of the thought is the thought of thought, the consumer intelligence and aware the knowledge there are being loaded on the presence levels.

The person with depression and suicidal feelings is often grateful to find someone with whom he can speak frankly about what he is thinking.

And if someone answers yes, listen to him and talk to him. But also lead to an emergency, take him there, go with him. In the same way, they went back to the proper accompaniment.

Then keep an eye on a situation. Keep talking eat, as he will try only the situation. Who would not do that?

This page is important that we talk about publicly and now.
How to Identify a Person Thinking of Suicide 2
When we are talking about suicide more productively and publicly demonstrating that we are trying to better understand costs, executives, executives, and market executives are thinking of committing suicide.

We must demonstrate that we will not judge our friends and loved ones - just love them.

***Mental health is public health***

For all this, one can understand the general reluctance to talk about it. The problem is that it is impossible to escape from it. According to a study by Unicamp, 17% of people have seriously considered ending their own lives: 4.8% developed some kind of plan to commit suicide and 2.8% tried to do it. When someone commits suicide, it is common to find a great cause of the tragedy: bankruptcy, loss of relative, an intimate video that falls on the network.

But these facts, alone, are not enough to explain death. "It's not the painful events of life that make you commit suicide. It is the incendiary effect on an underlying mental condition, often sick and frail, that causes the fact to take the dimension of tragedy inescapable, "says psychologist and suicide victim Vivian Zicker, a member of the Brazilian Association for the Study and Prevention of Suicide (ABEPS) and one of the coordinators of the Suicide Bereavement Support Group of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Imagine a lit cigarette butt falling on a green grass. It will burn slowly until it goes out. But if the cigarette falls into a dry bush, it can cause a small fire, which may turn a huge fire. So: buttocks are the painful events of life. Dry weeds are a fragile mental condition, such as depression, chronic pain, isolation. Green grass, on the other hand, is a healthy mind with protective factors - being employed, having a child at home, having a partner.

***From 10% to 15% of those suffering from depression try to end life***

In fact, among all risk factors, the greatest predictor of suicide is the occurrence of mental illness. According to the WHO, 90% of people who commit suicide have some imbalance, such as depression, bipolar disorder, substance dependence and schizophrenia - and 10% to 15% of those who suffer from depression try to end life.

Still, WHO argues that 90% of suicides could be avoided. The challenge is to take care of mental illness as we take care of other diseases. About 60% of people who commit suicide have never consulted with a psychologist or psychiatrist. Imagine how strange it would be, for example, if six out of ten people who break a leg just did not go to an orthopedist. Mental illness is just another illness - and one that can cause suicide. It seems obvious that the subject should be seen as a public health problem.

"The first step in prevention is to talk about suicide. It should be treated as AIDS and breast cancer, whose prevention campaigns were instrumental in reducing the incidence of disease, "says Karen Scavacini, a psychologist and coordinator of the Vita Alere Institute for Suicide Prevention. This is also WHO's vision. By 2013, its members committed to developing strategies to reduce the incidence of cases by 10% by 2020.

Japan is an example of success - and has historically high rates. Until the late 1990s, suicide was considered taboo. You should not discuss it publicly. Until 1998, the incidence of cases increased more than 8 thousand in a year and closed the 33 thousand deaths. From that peak, children of victims went to the press to ask for attention, and the government decided to develop public health measures in the country, which evaluated psychological, cultural and economic factors. It worked. Although still high, the number of Japanese who commit suicide a year has fallen gradually, and in 2012 it fell below 30,000 for the first time in 14 years.

***The new solutions***

On the night of March 8, 2017, Marcelo *, 40, started a live broadcast on his Facebook page saying he would kill himself in two hours. Unemployed and about to become a father for the fourth time, this was not the first attempt by the resident of the small town of Caçador, in the Midwest of Santa Catarina, to take his own life. However, he did not imagine that he would be prevented.

A friend of Marcelo notified the site that he was in danger and started the domino effect: Facebook officials in the US tracked the IP address of the computer, interrupted the transmission and triggered the American police, which in turn alerted the Brazilian embassy. Immediately, the Secretariat of Public Security of Santa Catarina was informed that a citizen was at risk and warned the authorities of Hunter.

The Fire Department, and the city's civilian and military police managed to get there in time. All this happened in less than two hours, in the first international task force triggered by Facebook to prevent anyone from killing himself.

Since June of last year, the social network has this security feature in which it is possible to warn if a friend is in danger. If you notice that an acquaintance has posted content with a tendency toward suicide or mutilation, you may file a complaint and the person will receive a message that a friend has cared for you. In the message to the person in danger, Facebook suggests some options, such as talking to someone or making contact with the CVV.

To reach even more people, Face is also developing an algorithm that detects risk words in users' posts and even in the comments of friends. The algorithm can trigger the suicide alert even if no one reports it. In February, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company wants to analyze signs of suicide in photos and videos - bullying and harassment are the other targets of the initiative.

Data analysis is also the solution proposed by researchers at Harvard and the State University of Florida. In the largest suicide study ever, experts looked at 356 surveys, from 1965 to 2014, which contained records on the health of more than 2 million Americans. Within this sample, they identified more than 3,200 people who tried to kill themselves. And they found: among the five decades that separate the oldest data from the survey of the youngest, there was no improvement in the ability of doctors and psychologists to predict suicide. At least a worrying fact.

The good news is in the next step of the survey. From that immense database, the team of scientists has developed an artificial intelligence tool that has been able to predict whether someone will commit suicide in the next two years with up to 80% accuracy - very similar to heart tests that show the chances of developing diseases cardiac disorders. The system is able to compute mental illnesses, financial crises, family history of suicide, discrimination, childhood traumas, stress or substance abuse - and then put all that data to interact with each other.

The closer the suicide is, the more accurate the prediction of the machine - and the more efficient the prevention. One week before someone tries to kill himself, for example, the hit rate rises to 92% for sure. "If more researchers focus on this, we can finally see significant declines in rates of suicidal behavior and, ultimately, suicide deaths on a global scale," said Jessica Ribeiro, the lead author of the study. It can be a solution for all those people who find themselves without a solution in life. And it will only be possible if we do not stop talking about it.

****Friend shoulder****
** Show that you care, that the person is not alone. Offer help ** without judging or giving advice: Say, "I'm worried about you. Want to talk? What can I do to help you? "
** Do not compare sufferings: do not require your friend to feel happy about having fewer problems than other people. Each deals with feelings in a particular way.
** Ask if your friend thinks about killing himself. If the answer is "yes", do not panic. Sharing suicidal thoughts can ease the feeling of isolation.
** The best way is to suggest professional assistance. For example: "It's okay if you do not want to open up to me, do you want help finding a psychologist?"

Teen suicides: how to understand the motives and deal with the fact that worries parents and educators
Worldwide, an estimated 2,191 people commit suicide. That means 800,000 suicides a year. These numbers are alarming and undress another situation that also deserves our full attention: depression, whose rates also increase progressively and worryingly on all continents.

According to WHO approximately 300 million people worldwide have depression. Children and adolescents are included in these statistics.

Causes for increased depression and suicide, especially among adolescents and young adults, still deserve more specialized studies. There is no doubt that the reasons are multifactorial, involving social, biological and psychological factors. For each person there may be the predominance of one of these factors, specifically.

It is up to us all, however, to be attentive to the people - especially teenagers - who are all around us. Often silent signals emanate, which may go unnoticed. People with depression tend to lack frequently and unexplained work or college; show little ability to concentrate on daily activities, self-esteem becomes lower, there may be carelessness with personal appearance, many lose their appetite and lose weight, sleep is impaired and tiredness is evident.

Making yourself available for a quiet and calm conversation, where you hear more than you speak, without unnecessary judgments, can be the first way to help those who need it. Referral for specialized treatment is essential.

AUTOMATION:
It is not easy to understand, and accept, self-mutilation. And contrary to what many imagine, it is not a suicide intention. The difficulty of sharing emotional emotion, symptoms of anxiety or depression, bullying, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc. Self-flagellation would be a way of shouting, of talking about this pain.

Some report that the physical loss is a late to the frequency, in the first thing the tolerable that a second. However, the release is momentary and when it bothers, it goes back to self-harm, becoming the vicious cycle.

Cars are self-esteem, withdrawn, cheerful displays, and distancing from social relationships. Most isolate.

The family plays an important role in welcoming, understanding, and encouraging activities that stimulate social interaction. However, psychotherapy is critical as it is a type of therapy that can help people feel more intense and angular.

Self-mutilation: what leads people to this practice?
It is a terrible mistake to believe that only mentally ill individuals can cause self-mutilation in themselves.

Not so rare we become aware of people who cause cuts in our skin. People, who often seem to enjoy good physical health, study, work, date, and participate in various family and social activities, however, at some point in their lives, they experienced the sensation of using a sharp instrument against them, serious injury. These behaviors are mostly recorded between boys and girls in the pre-adolescence phase, extending to the end of youth, before adulthood.

Adolescence
We know that it is in late childhood that things in a person's life begin to get complicated. In leaving childhood, we are faced with a series of difficult situations. The body undergoes a brutal process of transformation, at a mind-boggling pace. The complex change in the human body generates a very large production of hormones. It is a process of preparation of the human structure, which was just a child, to receive all the physical and mental changes that adult life will require.

This complicated process, which completely transforms the mind and body, also causes affective instabilities. That's when we cry more easily and often. When we fail to understand some decisions and wants of other people. When we can not see clearly what profession to follow, who to like or how to like someone. We also find it difficult to understand the conflicts faced by others.

Of course, this moment of great change seems to be the most difficult phase faced by someone. Our problems, doubts, hurts, anger, desires and pain seem to be the most urgent in the world. It is almost impossible to reflect and understand that we share the planet with more than 8 billion inhabitants, and they also face their personal battles.

*****And what does it mean when I cut my own skin?*****
It means that something is not going very well, and that the way of understanding some events in life needs to be readjusted.

In some African cultures, self-mutilation is understood as a way of purifying the body and mind before the society to which the adolescent is inserted. In indigenous cultures, the suffering of the body and self-inflicted injuries suggest a ritual of passage and the removal of evil spirits. We do not want to create ethnic discussions about what culture is wrong or wrong, the fact is that in our culture, self-mutilation is not and has never been recognized as healthy.

When one causes a cut in himself, it may mean that one or more factors of life are not in accordance with the expectations created, and that at that moment, he can not perceive what is going wrong. Or, if he realizes it, he has no other means of resolving conflicts, and unconsciously he believes that punishing his own body may be the best way to signal to others that he is in a state of deep suffering, indecision, or worry.

In other situations, when you cut yourself you may also be trying to get in touch with a way to prove to yourself that you are capable of brave deeds, while applying self-punishment for not being able, in a less painful way, to find a way out. the doubts that life presents to you. In any of these situations, this method is absolutely inadequate, has no efficacy and is extremely detrimental to the healthy development of the physical body and mental state, as well as sometimes giving the false sense of exit to conflicts.

The Importance of Family
Who has an adequate affective relationship with the family, boyfriend or girlfriend, or who passes through a moment of tranquility in the school or professional life, that is in good health, studies, sports sports or participates assiduously of social groups, anyone, that maintains in his day his spiritual, intellectual and social life, never causes itself a cut! Of course, it is not always possible to have a balanced life in all these instances, and it is very difficult to keep all the layers of life in order, but the greatest proof of courage of a human being is the ability to reflect and try to understand the problems themselves, the possible causes of them, and the options for solutions.

It is not always possible to come to these conclusions alone. Better than the blade, it's an instrument called dialogue. Discussing the pains that the chest feels is the best start to solve any problem, and when they directly involve the family, friends, the person you love, there is still a powerful resource: The help of a professional.

The Psychologist will be absolutely open to listen, welcome, and along with the person suffering, find the best resolutions alternatives. Love and attention cut more than the sharpest of razors, and the difference is that they provide highly effective, long-lasting and painless solutions ...

"There just seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel."

"Nothing else seems to make sense, there is only one pain so heavy that I carry, and that I can not bear ..."

"I can not live like this anymore, I would like to live, but not like this ..."

"There is nothing else I can do, it would be better to die ..."

For some people, at certain times in their lives, to think of death as the only way out of a situation of intolerable suffering may seem like the only possible solution. When a person feels on the edge, in such an anguished, hopeless and hopeless way, it is understandable that he considers that dispensing with the right to live, despite being a permanent solution, seems to be the best way to deal with a situation that, at that moment , is so overwhelming and painful. It is as if she feels herself lost in a completely dark labyrinth, as if all the paths that allow access to the exit doors cease to exist, and whoever even tried to go through one of these paths would only result in another useless effort, he would only find the doors completely locked, as he would not have the appropriate keys to open them.

If for yourself, the emotional pain you feel is so high, that the possibility of suicide is a viable option, or if you fear that someone who is important to you is taking that risk, please reflect, just for a little more in the next few lines and let this information help you understand how urgent it can be to seek expert help.

We recognize that talking about suicide is particularly challenging. It seems that, similar to so many other situations of psychological vulnerability, for which we prefer to look only in secret, silence works only as another "mask" that seeks to hide a reality of deep pain, mixed with feelings of shame, stigma and difference ... offering, once again, little or no useful help. Therefore, we would like for a moment to invite you to remove this mask, and to play the role of an attentive spectator, a reality so present in these modern societies. Otherwise, in just one year, about one million people in the world have taken their own lives - about one death every 40 seconds - and there are probably 4 million who try to do it! Suicide is among the top 10 causes of death, with 11 unsuccessful attempts for each suicide. About 20 percent of people who attempt suicide if they do not seek expert help repeat this action within a year, increasing the likelihood of eventually dying of suicide. About 10% of all suicide attempts are deadly. In Portugal alone, the suicide rate has doubled in the last decade, from around 600 to more than 1,200 cases per year. You have to think, do not you? Even though the numbers mentioned may seem rather frightening and difficult to accept, the possibility of finally choosing one's own life may affect, to some extent, each one of us, or as important as that, may involve a person who is so dear to us, regardless of age, socioeconomic status or geographical location.

It is important to understand that the likelihood of a person committing suicide varies on a continuum, which contemplates suicidal ideation - thoughts about the possibility of committing suicide - suicide attempt - nonfatal self-destructive gestures - to consummate suicide, which results in death. But in the face of any of these groups, of course the question to which you would like to know an answer might be attached to what motivates someone to choose to end their own lives. Generally speaking, on the one hand, suicide conveys a person's desire to escape or end their suffering (which is the result of many problems) and, on the other, their desire to communicate their suffering to others - it is a request for help. In addition, each person has their own reasons, very particular, deep and extremely painful that lead them to consider giving up living. A sudden change in your life circumstances, such as financial difficulties, unemployment or loss of socioeconomic status, changes in the family or relational context (divorce, the end of a relationship, death of a family member ...) or the feeling of isolation, loneliness and the absence of future horizons or projects may be relevant factors.

Let us not forget also the undesirable company of certain mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia), which can contribute to a state of greater disorganization and emotional discomfort, by weakening the potential skills to think about solutions and deal with adversities, which in turn increases the possibility of despair becoming even more intolerable.

Suicide is rarely a sudden decision, though friends and family view this event as completely unexpected, startling, or even shocking. In most cases, suicide is something planned - the person constructs a plan, sets a date, defines a method, and thinks about that possibility over a period of time before making a final decision.

However, impulsivity is a personality trait that interferes with decision making by modeling how quickly one moves from thought to act and may be an added risk factor. There are thus some situations where suicide occurs impulsively. For a given situation, which is painful and intolerable, the person makes an immediate, hasty and thoughtless decision (in the sense of alleviating the emotional pain felt), by issuing an auto response -destructive that leads to the irreversible consequence of death.

Warning Signs
As described earlier, most people who commit suicide give clues and warning signs, but others around them are not aware of their meaning or know how to respond. Here are some examples of warning signs, whose timely detection and effective intervention could save lives:

Becoming a depressed, melancholic person (presents great sadness, hopelessness and pessimism, cries systematically);
Talk a lot about death, suicide or that there are no reasons to live, using verbal expressions such as "I can not take it anymore", "It does not matter anymore", or "I'm thinking of ending it all";
Preparations for death: put things in order, dispose of / offer valuable valuables, make farewells, or say goodbye as if you were not to be seen again;
Demonstrate a marked change in behavior, attitudes, and appearance;
Behave at risk, marked impulsiveness and aggressiveness;
Increased consumption of alcohol, drugs or drugs;
Social withdrawal or isolation;
Persistent insomnia, anxiety or permanent distress;
Unusual appetite, lethargy, lack of appetite;
Difficulties of relationship and integration in the family or group;
School failure (for example, when you were an interested student);
Self-mutilation.
Against this background, you are likely to recognize at least some of these symptoms in people you know, or even in yourself. Note, however, that the list provided only provides some examples of signs that may indicate the presence of suicidal ideation or attempted suicide. Naturally, the greater the number of signs present, the greater the risk of suicide, and the greater the urgency to seek help as soon as possible.
